Annual Fund
Dear Museum Friend:
Exciting exhibitions. Unique educational programs. Engaging arts experiences. These features define the Attleboro Arts Museum.
Yet,
Arts for Everyone doesn’t happen on it’s own. Your gift to the Attleboro Arts Museum’s Annual Fund will support significant cultural offerings for visitors of all ages and backgrounds, and fund important work in the arts and community development.
At the Attleboro Arts Museum we have made the important decision to not charge a gallery admission fee. All of our exhibitions – year round – have always been free and open to the public. This is a unique policy, and one that I am most proud of. We are dedicated to providing a clear and colorful path to the arts for all visitors, and have been since our founding 85 years ago.
85 Years Young
To commemorate our 85th anniversary, the Museum is currently hosting a vibrant exhibit entitled,
Out of the Blue, on display from July 2 to July 25. The Museum's
vivid blue identity and trademark – designed to represent energy, opportunity and commitment – is the impetus behind this national, juried exhibition of “blue work”
in all mediums. In addition to the
Out of the Blue Opening Awards Reception on Friday, July 11, 7-9 p.m., we will hold a Museum 85th Anniversary Party on Thursday,
July 24, 7 - 9 p.m. Please help us celebrate and welcome in the next 85+ years.
A Memorable Year
The past year at the Museum has been filled with great activity. Our
Viktor Schreckengost Legacy Exhibition brought record-breaking attendance to the Museum. This world-class show
attracted visitors from around the country to Attleboro. Gallery-goers were treated to the diversity, remarkable skill and creativity of artist/industrial designer Viktor Schreckengost
and his students.
On April 15th the Museum sold Alexander Iacovleff’s “Under A Kirghiz Tent” at Sotheby’s Russian Painting Auction in New York. The sale of this painting, originally gifted to the
Museum in 1957 by art dealer W. Charles Thompson, will strengthen our endowment and further our mission by enriching and expanding our arts programming, cultural events, and
outreach efforts. It will also fund lectures, workshops and high quality exhibitions that are not typically available in our region. We are sincerely grateful for such an
extraordinary gift and consider it a powerful springboard for future fundraising. Like all non-profit organizations – both large and small – we must work to grow our funding
and maintain a steady stream of support. This recent sale has jumpstarted our long-term funding efforts, enabling us to vigorously move ahead and grow our organization.
We are asking for your support during our Annual Fund campaign. A tax-deductible Museum gift strengthens one of the region’s major cultural resources and secures our promise of
delivering
Arts for Everyone. We thank you for considering a contribution and for being a vital part of our family.
Warm regards,
